Do "subway train" has another name?

I mean the trains that are running on subways, do they have any other name?

  1. In the UK we call them the Underground, or the Tube.

    In most European countries, it's the Metro.

    In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, it's U-Bahn, which is short for 'Untergrundbahn', which means, underground railway.

    Incidentally, in the UK a subway is an underground foot passageway, a lot of Tube stations have them. It must be very confusing for our American visitors to be told to get to the Underground by using the subway.
