Do radical environmentalists have actual arguments or do they just make up words like denier and Frankenfood?

The right to have children should be a marketable commodity, bought and traded by individuals but absolutely limited by the state.

—Kenneth Boulding, originator of the “Spaceship Earth”

concept (as quoted by William Tucker in Progress and Privilege, 1982)

We have wished, we ecofreaks, for a disaster or for a social change to come and bomb us into Stone Age, where we might live like Indians in our valley, with our localism, our appropriate technology, our gardens, our homemade religion—guilt-free at last!

—Stewart Brand (writing in the Whole Earth Catalogue).

Free Enterprise really means rich people get richer. They have the freedom to exploit and psychologically rape their fellow human beings in the process…. Capitalism is destroying the earth.

  1. Well I know for sure that there are none in TEXAS !!  Sure, there are radicals and they do some really stupid things sometimes but that doesn't mean every person who calls themselves an environmentalist is going to come to your house at night and torch your Hummer - get real! For they most part they are trying to protect our quality of life - that means all life not just cocky humans.  I'll be glad when people can live on Mars then you anti life people can go there and enjoy the vast nothingness from your enclosed bubble that you're allready living in.

  2. How can you have actual words that fit into their scare tactic fairy tales?

As for the one above me who said 'there are no radical environmentalists"  I must assume that she lives with her head stuck in the sand, or she is just out right dumb.   Maybe both.

  3. There is no such thing as a "radical environmentalist" in a world where part of the daily newscast includes issuing an "Orange Day Warning" or "Purple Day Warning" for AIR QUALITY and we just pay it no attention like it was NORMAL or something.

There is no such thing as a "radical environmentalist" in a world where species are going extinct at a rate of over 50,000 every year -    where before this past 100 years of industrial insanity, the rate of extinction was MILLIONS OF YEARS for a species to go extinct.

There is no such thing as a "radical environmentalist" in a world where MERCURY (the most toxic substance known to man) is now found in human TISSUE.

There is no such thing as a "radical environmentalist" in a world where over 1700 chemicals are used in everyday products which have never even been tested on humans.

  4. They so often have themselves convinced that any technology in any field will be detrimental to the world, and most often, they're wrong.

Oh, and Life, do you really believe there is no such thing as a "radical" environmentalist?  If you don't, you're completely blind.  How about the environmentalists that believe the world is overpopulated and demand that there be mandatory limits on how many children we can have?  Oh how about the pathetic idiots who preach that Hummers are evil and firebomb them on the dealership lots to prove a point?  By the way, that does happen, and when it does, the pollution from the burning vehicle causes more pollution than the Hummer will ever produce.  Isn't that ironic?  Or what about those that will protest the harvesting of vegetation or animals despite them being used for great things like medicine and other things to improve people's lives?  Or what about those supposed practical environmentalists that push ethanol usage when the only thing it really does it drive up the cost of food AND standard fuel creating a situation extremely difficult to weather for the poor?  Did you forget about any of those?  Or are those not radical enough for you?

  5. I see intelligent comments here every day.  I also see many attempts to dismiss whole categories of people by labeling them with terms like "radical."  Try to engage those with whom you disagree.  Respond to their arguments with facts.  You'll never convince anyone by name-calling.  It just makes you look juvenile.

  6. Clearly environmentalism is an attack on man's intellect.

Environmentalist would be happier is we evolved no further than monkeys.

This is why their concept of subjective science or the science of the consensus is popular with them, as it requires no intelligence to come to a conclusion, just a majority of people with the same emotional feelings.

Objective science embedded in the scientific method is difficult and requires intelligent people to make discoveries.
