  1. rats are scavengers by nature, and will eat everything (but given the choice, they will probably prefer their regular rat food).

  2. I'm sure that if the rat had access to a small fish, that they may very well take a test bite.

Just depends on the rat. I had one in the past, that used to go fishing for minnows.

  3. They may because rats are omnivorous But i'm not sure if a betta would be good to feed to your rattie. It may make it sick

  4. I'm sure the rat would try to eat the fish, but I wouldn't want to test out that theory.... the only kind of protein that I know rodents can have is a mealworm you buy from the pet store.... but I think rats can eat fish...

  5. i happened to be eating some fish when I read this and I have 2 rats, so I gave them some of my fish to see if they liked it and they did. (rat's can eat almost anything a human can eat)

  6. I have no clue. You should ask someone. LOL. Probably they do. Rats eat anything.

  7. I wouldn't exactly give it a pet store betta, you can try them with salmon, and tuna which would be better, but I think it would be best to just not feed fish at all.

  8. Rats are omnivores and are also scavengers in the wild, so they could eat a fish.  That being said, you shouldn't feed your rat a live fish, especially not a betta.  If you are interested in getting your rat some animal protein, you can feed him/her tuna fish from a can if you want.

If you are looking for a way to dispose of the betta, you're better off finding a friend who might be interested or a family with young children that can have the fish as a "first pet."

Bettas are not poisonous to other animals if your rat somehow accidentally ate your fish.

    Hope that helps!

  9. Rats will eat anything given to them. But if the fish is protected, no, rats won't eat it.

  10. Why do you ask? ;P They likely WILL eat them, or try, but they are not a part of a rat's natural diet, if that's what you're asking.. I don't recommend killing a betta and feeding it to a rat. :]

  11. You will find that some rats will eat anything that you put in front of their mouth, and you will find others that are fairly picky with their eating habits.

You will just have to figure out the habits of your rat. I would think that if you put it in front of a rat, they will have no desire to eat it, but yet again, as I said above, if the rat will eat anything, they will probably eat a betta fish!

I hope this has helped you!

  12. The question ought to be: Do you offer rats fish to eat? Rats will eat ANYTHING.

  13. I think so. Just i don't know if you mean raw or cooked i would guess raw though. Hope i helped! :)

  14. They would probably try. Rats are scavengers and eat anything they can find edible. They are omnivors so they will eat about anything. (Including clothes, that I know from expierence :P)
