  1. yes they do! my friend has 6 and they were so cute and friendly!

    I want 2! or more :u

  2. yes..   my   8 y.o.  has  a  white one..(benny)..hes   preety  smart   and   cudly!!

  3. Rats make excellent pets. Way, way better than Hamsters. Hamsters can be very nasty and vicious.

Rats are extremely intelligent and can learn all sorts of things. They are very sociable and can bond very well with their human owners.

It would be a very suitable first pet.

The only Hamster I would want is Hammond!

  4. I have heard that rats are really fun to play with. But I would prefer a guinea pig because they are the easiest to take care of if you are taking care of a rodent for the first time.

  5. I understand that rats make excellent pets. Clean, intelligent. All pets take a good deal of looking after. How do you feel about having a rat in your  house? Good luck.

  6. Christ no, get her a hamster

  7. yes, they make excellent pets. they love human attention. they can be as smart as dogs. they dont bite, if they do its probably because they are injured. they can smell, but only if you dont clean their cage out enough. when they are happy they do a thing called bruxing and sometimes if they are xtra happy, they will boggle their eyes. but get 2 of the same s*x.

dont listen to jack, i have 2 male rats and they have never licked their balls, they arent even big, i dont even notice them and males tend to be more friendly than females.

  8. They are kind of cute and you can train them to do simple tricks, but in the long run, they are disgusting.  The males have huge balls that they constantly l**k.  The worst part is when they get older and die.  We had two rats and they started getting these tumors that seemed to get bigger every day.  Soon they started knawing on each others tumors and it was very disgusting and disturbing. If you want a pet, I would not get a rodent of any kind.  They require more care than you think, and they smell.

  9. NO NO NO. They are disgusting urine dribbling disease ridden vermin. Get her a hamster.

  10. yes they make excelent pets i had to go  on at my mum to let me get one too lol if u get one get 2 tho as soical my rats arnt even tamae yet really and not old about 8 weeks they already go in my pocket cuddle me go on my shoulder i even wwant to breed them so yes their such god pets and to other answers hamsters are awful my bro got one it bit him went so deep his blood waaas dripping and they jsut blah

  11. some people say hamsters bite but they don't (they might the first day you handle it) and r very easy to look after and don't smell so i would get her a hamster and they r so cute

  12. Although i am scared to death of rats, i believe they make excellent pets and are very intelligent.

  13. I don't know about making good pets...they certainly make good reporters.

  14. Rats make great pets if you can get over their huge package///:LOL

  15. They can be lovely pets as they are very docile and friendly, and can get quite tame. My little sister and I both had a pet rat each and they were the best pets EVER!! however, they do need regular cleaning out as the cag can get quite smelly! but in my experience rats are a lot easier to tame, and less likely to bite than hamsters! go get her one, she will love it!

  16. Yes. i have owned rats all my life and currently own 5. They don't smell as much as hamsters and most rodents(i have owned all kinds). They can be trained and love attention.

Please don't listen to people who say they are dirty and vermin, or the people who say to get another rodent(hamster or Guinea pig), most have never owned a rat and don't know how clean they are. they rearly carry disease, they are nothing like the wild ones. and also rats have been domesticated for over 200 years, longer than all the other rodents.

They are cheap and easy and are very easy to handle.

If i had a child asking for a rat, i would buy one. They are just amazing. words can't explain, but experience can.

  17. maybe a couple of female guinea pigs would be a better option?

very easy to keep - & having kept them for 16 years - hv found no problems.

    gd luck.
