Do reading or computer glasses hurt or worsen your eyes in any way?

I am trying to figure out if I should try computer glasses or reading glasses but I don't want to damage or worsen my vision in any way.

  1. I wear reading glasses when on the computer because wearing contacts hurts my eyes and I can't see the screen very well.  I've had the same prescription for over 5 yrs.  So, no they won't make your eyes worse I don't think.  It hasn't mine.

Nope.  Wearing glasses won't make your vision any worse or better.  They just help you see more clearly by focusing images on your retina.  As we get older, it is harder to focus on things at near, so you may progress through a few reading glass prescriptions as you get older.  The glasses don't make your eyes worse, though.  This is just how our eyes age.  I suggest you get some if your vision is blurry now.  :)

  3. Your eyes will not get any worse than it is if you use either glasses to read or computer.  By using either glassess is to reduce the strain you cause to your eye and by using the glassess for computer it helps protect your eye against the rad light.
