  1. that is correct.  salvage yards will be happy to buy you aluminum.  60 cents per pound sounds about right.  what are you doing with your cans?

  2. i also have heard mixed asnwers. here in rockford ive heard of diffrent companys paying for them. i also think there donating them to shriners hospitals. i have family that has delt with them and i send them there.

  3. Depends what you mean by site.  A full service junkyard will pay by the pound for most kinds of metal, including washers dryers and stoves

but you would need a lot of them to make it worthwhile at 60 cents a pound or so

  4. Most all Metal Recyclers will pay you for your scrap aluminum. The can tabs are considered to be 'clean' when they have no anodized color or paint on them, and you should get top price in the "clean aluminum" category.

Otherwise you can do as I do and donate them to a charity of your own chosing, I also take the cans back to the retailers for proper recycling (and my deposit back) . I donate my tabs  to the Amvets and they use them for the various projects and things they give at the Veterans Hospital.

  5. no

  6. Yes, if you are willing to drive and deliver the aluminum tabs to a recycling site, you can probably be reimbursed for the tabs.  However, if you'd rather just donate them to a great cause, you can send them to Shriner's Hospitals, or someone you know locally who is involved with Shriner's.   I'm sure they would gladly deliver them when they visit with thier sick child for treatment at these free hosiptals!

If you don't know of anyone who uses the Shriner's Hospital services, please email me back and I'll make arrangements for your pop-tabs to get to the Shriner's Hospital in Philadelphia, PA every 3 months or so.  My child visits them every 3 months!!!!

  7. nope
