  1. i don't see why not

  2. thats such c**p...wild insects are not bad for a turtle...red eared sliders are wild animals their self. It's fine for your turtle to eat flies...they normally eat feeder fish though. you can also feed them night crawlers and earth worms...thats a wonderful tasty treat for them!

  3. these guys eat ANYTHING that moves..flies, crickets, worms of all types..

Sliders are great for decorating ponds or large tanks. I have had two for 36 yrs now plus a 8 yr old and a 5 yr old. This is how I have taken care of them for 36 yrs. Great pets.

I have had them in a stand alone 150gal pond from sears..for about 6 yrs now..

**Here is some important and a lot of info. If he or she is small get feeder guppies or small feeder goldfish, frozen brown worms ..or live brown worms from a fish store. petco and or petsmart do not carry live worms..

  4. Well one fly shouldn't be a problem, but generally wild insects can carry disease, parasites, and they may have been exposed to pesticides and other toxins.  This is why wild caught insects shouldn't be fed.   In nature wild turtles are exposed to these things, but their health and life spans are not nearly what they are in captivity.
