  1. Yes they will work in the dark.  However, you need to be sure that it is a camera and not a beam detector for fire trucks.  Beam detectors do not record images.  I'm not sure about the law in California regarding these cameras, but they are used in many other places.

  2. yes and if you were speeding you will get a ticket in the mail..

dont speed ..your only making money for the goverment and rta ...

  3. THE CAMERAS WORK BY A SENSOR IN THE STREET THAT YOU RUN OVER NOT BY MOTION. IF YOU PULL UP TO FAR EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T RUN THE LIGHT YOU CAN GET A TICKET. THE LIGHT ACTUALLY WAITS FOR YOU TO CONTINUE DRIVING BEFORE IT TAKES THE SECOND PICTURE.

  4. Not all of them flash, if it's in a well-lit intersection or at least a decently lit intersection they can work.

And in the town I live, in California, they have traffic cameras all over the place.  So I'm pretty sure they're not illegal.

  5. Yeah they work in the dark, they have flashes. If you didn't see a flash (day or night), there was no picture taken.

There was an ATTEMPT to outlaw them, but I'm not sure if it passed or not.
