  1. I've heard that they sometimes work but it is illegal.  Well, here in California it is.

  2. no, how can you think that? You would have to cover an entire vehicle

  3. Some work, some don't.

Any covering on a license plate, even clear glass, is illegal (a traffic offense) in almost all states.

Using one for the purpose of defeating a camera is a criminal offense.

  4. There are certain plastic license plate covers, that will send back a reflection, much like anything reflective being used in front of a camera.  However, in many states, it is illegal to use any form of license plate cover (i.e. Oregon)

  5. Some claim to but keep in mind that there are several private companies in the states alone and many different types of cameras. I would say it would help your chances of not getting caught but not insure it. Much like having a radar detector may "help" you not get a speeding ticket. Keep in mind that any alterations to your  motor vehicle could  be against the law in your home state or by city ordnance

  6. YES.  The plate number will not show up when they view the picture/video.  If it does, very very unlikely, the company will pay your ticket.

However, it is outlawed in some states.

  7. NO! It's a scam! The Mythbuster's tested all variations with no discernible results.

  8. NO they do NOT.  Tests have proven that they are a waste of your money.
