  1. Reptiles do not have taste buds because they do not eat hamburgers or pizza. If humans had none there would be no fat people, because they would only eat when they are hungry. Has anyone ever thought of that?

  2. no

  3. Hmmm... good question, but no reptiles do not have taste buds, because they would be eating over and over and over and over again.

  4. They smell with their toungues, which is why they are always sticking them out.

  5. Reptiles DO have taste buds, but many species have only a few, and in some species they are located at the back of the throat rather than on the tongue as with humans. It's ridiculous to say that they would eat all the time if they had taste buds - if this were true, nearly all animals would be constantly eating. Humans eat more than we need to because we can - food is readily available, and we're just plain greedy. Most animals don't have the luxury of eating whenever they like. Tastebuds have an evolutionary purpose - they tell the animal if the food it's eating is suitable for it. Something that's harmful or poisonous will taste bad to the animal, causing it to spit it out.
