Overshadowed by NYC and Philadelphia. The indignity of having Newark, Trenton and Camden to apologize for, and the lack of any focus of culture and arts scene.

  1. No not really.

The people of New Jersey know that:

They have the highest per capita income of any US state.

They have the highest concentration of PhD's than any US state.

They have the highest concentration of engineers and scientists than any US state.

    There is also NJPAC

    Grounds for Sculpture.

    New Jersians aren't concerned.

  2. Yes, I think New Jersey does get a bad reputation for many of the reasons you mentioned.

I wish we had nice cities....Newark, Camden, Trenton, Paterson...are so awful.  Everything flies into Newark airport and automatically assumes it's like that.  There are beautiful towns though like Ridgewood, Morristown, Princeton, beach towns, etc...but you don't have the same culture/arts scene like you do in other states.

I don't think people realize how expensive it is to live here with housing costs, highest property tax in the country, and expensive car insurance rates.  Even people in the ghetto are paying more for rent than people in other parts of the country...it's ridiculous!  So many people think it's a dump!

As nice as parts of NJ are, I would not hesitate to move.  I'm 24 and have lived here my whole life.  There are definitely great things about NJ(charming neighborhoods, great food, very good schools, the ocean, close proximity to NYC) ...but I still plan to eventually move to Colorado! I'm so sick of NJ!

  3. hey!!! i live in NJ and i like it! im down south near phili, and its beautiful

  4. Yeah Jersey does get a bad rap...because they earned it BWAHAHAHAHAHAH!!  lmao.

That city or *cough cough* I meant state is a shithole.  I lived in NYC for about 5 years and you can smell cities like Suckockus, Trenton, Paterson, North and South Bergen from miles away.

New Jersey is the laughing stock of America in my opinion.  They're like second class Staten Island.
