  1. They pay the state highway department a listing fee to appear on the signs.


  2. They don't pay the "Interstate"  for the signs, If you are talking about the Billboards, they rent them for advertising, as far as the exit signs , they pay a fee to the state to have their restaurant posted on exit signs

  3. Yes.  The hwy dept of whatever state they are in charges an annual fee to be included on the sign.

  4. Not sure but do you realize i live in florida we have to pay for take out...a take out tax?wth?but its not there if you eat IN!

Yes, they pay the state.  It's not much, though.  I have a friend who owned a Subway and I believe she paid $200 to  have it put on one of those blue signs.  They have to meet certain requirements.  They have to be open for a certain number of hours and serve something for all three meals: breakfast - lunch - dinner (or breakfast - dinner - supper if you grew up on a ranch in South Dakota).

  6. Yes you have to pay to be on those signs.  also, you must be open at least 12 hours a day to be on those
