Do robins have more than one brood per year?

Not sure if "brood" is the right word, but that mama robin is back in the nest... Is she having more babies or is she just whacko?

Yes, she is not whacko.You may even see the Dad on the nest once in awhile.

Yep, we had a pair nesting under our deck and we put a camera on them.   That mama churned two clutches of babies out of that nest in quick succession.

The babies mature and leave the nest so fast, that they will often have 3 clutches in a year -it only takes two weeks from hatching for them to leave the nest!

2 -3 broods per year is normal for robins.   with three being common,  I'm raising the second set of fledglings this year now.. before anyone screams, I'm licensed.

I am pretty sure It`s 4 times a year. Mine has already had 2.

She is laying more eggs. She can do it twice (maybe more).

An American Robin can produce three successful broods in one year. On average, though, only 40 percent of nests successfully produce young. ♥
