No. Actually the royals do not wear their crowns unless it is for very special ceremonial events. Since priceless stones and diamond encrusted crowns can get heavy after awhile, this is why you see the Queen more often wearing her hat than her crowns. Queen Elizabeth II has worn about 5,000 different hats over the past 50 years. The hats represent more than simply a fashion statement, hats, you see, are obviously very significant items of clothing in a monarch. You could say when she's wearing a hat that she's wearing a sort of crown substitute.

Actually, I've heard Her Majesty complain about the weight of the Imperial crown.  

And Diana used to say even the tiaras gave her headaches.

Those hummers are heavy!  Not your garden variety homecoming Queen tiaras, you know.

They're trained from birth. When they're kids, they start by walking around with 5 pound rocks on their heads. By teenage years, they can actually use their younger siblings, who also have rocks on their heads.

Its quite impressive.

All the Crowns are very heavy and the Queen had to practise wearing the coronation crown for months before her coronation.

Queen Victoria had a smaller crown especially made because as she got older she could not manage to wear any of the other crowns for extended periods of time.

I think they are trained to wear the crown.  If you had a child in line for your job you'd train them right?  Well I imagine royals do the same.  Train their kids to one day take over the "family business" which involves learning how to wera the crown.
