  1. they stay at the ocean floor when there aliveand dead they dont float cuz they dont have that much room in them fir air have u ever saw one float


  2. Sand dollars that you find (dried/bleached) will float in your tank unless you pick them up directly from the beach's.  If you weigh the dryones down in water they will eventually sink.  You can also burry them half way in your tank.

  3. Live ones stay on the ocean floor.  The empty shell may float if not filled with something heavy, like water, or most solids.

  4. Live sand dollars live in "beds" of hundreds if not thousands.  Live sand dollars are brownish and "fuzzy" and stick up vertically in sand.  When dead, they typically wash up on the beach and/or float.
