Yes,, just like any other culture or place.. But its not as common as in west where some men do this strategically like sugar mommas or something.. But yes I know a few couples where the wife is a bit older....

Yes, it happens.  I'm a little bit older than my husband, but not by much, so it really makes no difference for us.

Most of the time though, I think Saudi women get married around age 18-20, while the men wait until 25-28 before getting married.  Most of the girls just finish high school, while most of the guys need to have a good job or finish college then find a good job to get married.

yes, some do...not very common though (more common when the bride is a westerner rather than saudi or arab)...

men usually got married once they secured a job (after college) while girls married just out of highschool or early college (i got married at 17 during the summer vacation right after highschool and started college in the fall)...although this is changing quite a bit these days...more saudi girls are waiting till after college to get married...

in general, arab men went for younger girls...and the shift haven't changed much of that except that instead of having a 10 year age difference it's more like 2-3 years if not exactly the same age...some would go for a girl older by 2-3 years and that wouldn't be odd or strange...but to go for a woman older by 6+ years (especially if it's the mans first marriage) is usually not as accepted...sometime in the last 30+ years it became socially unacceptable (keep in mind that the prophet mohammed married lady khadijah who not only was way older than he was but she was wealthier and she's the one who proposed)...

especially the guys mom, she wouldn't want an "older" girl to marry her "gem"...but with some buttering up and convincing...she'll do whatever her son wants...

honeslty speaking, men...regardless if their saudi or not....wouldn't go for an older lady except in very rare cases or as mintee said to get themselves a 'sugar mamma'....stories of older men running after or leaving their wives for younger, slimmer, tighter, more vibrant and s**y mates isn't exactly rare!

.....I think there are few who goes by that but the common tradition is that most of them preferred young fresh girls to marry than them.....age gap differs from 1 yr to 40 yrs......
