  1. Gloria got it right. What she said is the true.

Carl, you might be right for some people in Saudi. But i respect the book while i beleiive that is not totally correct.

    Nice question.

  2. .....no, they dont respect the Bible because according to them its all lies but of course they're wrong about it. They need to know the contents of it before judging it as the saying goes, "don't judge the book by its cover". It is the holy book of Christians as Qu'ran to Muslims......It is not forbidden here in Saudi Arabia unless its kept private by some expatriates working here otherwise if its known, it will be confiscated and burned eventually......

  3. As far as I know, the Bible is recognized as the book of the Christians who are- just like the Jews- the people of the book. Yet, the Bible is has been falsified and that is the common belief.;-)

  4. As a muslim in Islam we are taught that there were 3 books, written messages brought by prophets, Moses, David and Jesus  (with the final 4 being Mohammed)..

We know those original messages, untarnished, unchanged, uncorrupted,  are true to Gods ultimate message..

There are some snippets of truth in the Bible.. The Quran speaks highly of the "people of the books".. Jews and Christians.. and says they are closest to us cause of this..

We respect the bible and the torah yes.. but we do acknowledge some of whats in the current books isnt what the original messages were... Thats why God choose to send the final uncorrupted message and make sure it wouldnt be changed this time... ^_^

  5. all muslims believe that the bible is a "book of God" just as Qura'an is, hence placing it at the same level and treating it with the same respect...despite the fact that we believe that the bible available today is false and not completly true as it was in its original form.

i do not know if "All Saudis" respect the bible, but all the saudis i know, interact with and live among (my self and family included ofcourse) do respect the bible while believeing it's not the original true one...my parents own an arabic translation of the bible (bought from one of jeddahs bookstores or fairs) and i personally own one in english...

  6. Censorship is used to keep people ignorant.

Not to say that any religion is more correct, their are many paths.

Those in power in Muslim countries maintain it through the religion.

People with true freedom will not support a government based on tyranny.

The Saudi Royal family wouldn't last a week without using religion to keep down the masses.
