Question:

Do schools have this right?

Do schools have the right to keep me in advanced classes? They can't can they? It isn't necessary for me to be in them, or else everyone would have to take them. So why won't they take me out of it? They told me I need 'good reasons' and a call from my parents. Good reasons? Why the **** do I need good reasons? I don't want to be in them. Is it that the guidance concealers are just lazy? I can understand that they need a call from my parents, who also don't care if I'm in them or not, but good reasons? Why? Was it or was it not my choice to go into them? **** I should have every say in it.

  1. School schedules are complicated, and many many students ask for changes for all sorts of reasons.  They have to make sure there is a procedure which makes this practical (i.e. requiring good reasons, teacher recommendation, parent request, and so on).

I'm sure if your parents make a formal request they will take that seriously.

  2. i would think that if you dont feel comfortable with the class and you dont think that you are ready for it that they would force you to take them. sit down with your parents and talk this over with them and ask them if they will give the school a call and see if its possible to put you back in regular classes. i agree with you. you are the one taking the classes and these grades will end up on your records, if you dont feel you are going to do well then that should be reason enough.

  3. Just tell your parents that you don't want to be in them anymore. If they call it will be o.k.

  4. It depends on what type of school you are in. In private, charter, and/or catholic schools, classes are advanced because they want you to work harder. In public schools, they rarly do this at all.
