Do schools in Germany have a summer break? If so what months and did they have one in the mid 1970's.

  1. In Germany is 16 States and all having different times  "summer breaks" for 6 weeks. Most starts in June and after all done will be end August. The date for that changes every year. This is how the school system work in Germany. They having also 3 weeks break in autumn Oct. and also I think 2 or 3  weeks in Easter.

    In 1970's was the same from June-August.

  5. In Germnay we have 6 weeks summer vacation, 2 weeks at carnival, 2 weeks on easter, 2 weeks at pentecost, 1 week in November and 2 weeks at Christmas. They are all on the same time but summer vacation are on a different time from state to state but alwys 6 weeks long.

    Summer vacation in Bavaria this year is between 4 Aug and 9 September.
