  1. absolutely - we mostly recycle by saving things for crafts!

  2. at our schools they usually have bins as well..its for organizations and the school just "houses" the bins...i have a home daycare and my kiddos recycle here...

  3. None of my child care centres did. The amount of waste was horrific!

  4. If your school doesn't recycle..you talk to the PTA about it.

  5. schools usually do

    mine does! [ :

  6. I work in a preschool-we have:

3 bins-one for our fruit and veg peelings and left overs

-blue bin and black bin with posters of what goes in each.

We have posters reminding staff (and as a visual for children) to turn off plugs and lights, and have a 'turn the tap' off sign in the toilet area.

We have recyclable modelling everyday-parents and staff bring in paper roll tubes, old bottles, buttons etc and the children use these in their arts and crafts.

We do other things like eco-week etc and we also have toy swapshops where parents bring in old stuff and can swap with other parents for something new!

  7. I think it has to do with the resources of taking the recycle materials to the right places. Many school have parent groups or other volunteers that help with that.

Ann M made a great point about using recycled materials for arts and crafts. It was right under my nose, we do that all the time too as do most preschools and day cares.
