  3. No, seagulls do not usually eat kelp. In the wild, they eat small fish, shellfish, carrion and small seashore creatures. As they live near the coast and are highly intelligent and resourcful birds, they could eat kelp if it came near the surface, but seagulls only eat sea creatures that they can reach easily, whether they are on the seashore, in shallow waters are live near the surface of the water. However, although kelp is not a fish that goes particularly far down in the waters, it is not one that is on the menu for most seagulls.
