Steve Stricker's the No. 1 seed for this week's competition - and he's the No. 2 player in the world. That should mean he's a shoo-in, right?

Not really. Stricker has won here before, back in 2001, though it should be noted that at that championship, he started the tournament as 55th seed. The truth is that the best golfer doesn't necessarily win over 18 holes, meaning that while this eliminator offers a great spectacle, it's not the most accurate indicator of sporting excellence. After all, Tiger Woods has lost out here to the likes of Peter O'Malley.  Indeed, Woods is the only No. 1 seed to have won here.
