  1. Depends on what you order with it.  If you and a friend want two waters and split an appetizer then yes you're cheap!!  If you order water with your meal and tip your waiter then no you're not!

  2. Who cares what the server thinks of me? As long as they don't spit in my food, I'm fine with that.

  3. everybudie thinks differently but i think its nt cheap at all

  4. It depends on what you order with it. If you order water to drink and a huge bacon and cheese covered greasy meal followed by a fattening dessert and pay with a gift certificate, then yeah, they probably think you're cheap. But if you order it with a salad or whatever, they probably just think you're dieting.

Or, maybe they're just working and don't even notice who is ordering what anymore. :)

  5. if they do , ask them to live 2 days without water

  6. No, they probably think of you as healthy. I usually choose diet Coke  =]

  7. doesnt matter as long as they get their tip

  8. No. More and more people are drinking water with their meals.

  9. Yes, starting off at least.  Usually, a smart server can tell right off the bat if they're cheap or not by the way to tell you.

NOT SO TABLE = Hi, how are you?  Umm, I think I'm just going to start with a water.  Oh, maybe some lemon too?

BAD TABLE = 2 waters, lemon.

Either way, by orders waters (ESPECIALLY if it's more then 2 waters at a table) you sort've get put at the bottom of the priority list.  And yes, a good server knows how to prioritize.

I work at a Ruby Tuesday where I get dozens of people who come in every day to order 2 waters, then ultimately 2 salad bar entree's, and leave (who would've guessed it--) $2.  Needless to say, I can spot these tables a mile away, so I be sure to take care of my LESS-cheap tables first.

  10. yes, i think so...

  11. Why do they bother. I mean, they serve so many customers, they know it makes no difference.

  12. No, they probably think of you as healthy. I usually choose Diet Pepsi

  13. Depends on the situation. I know alot of my customers order it because they are eating healthy, salads, baked fish/chicken, vegetables. Then there are other people who order it and come to the table (buffett rest.) with the drink slip and say, "I ordered a coke". Well water is free and coke cost $1.89, free refills, so when you tell them this they get mad and say nevermind or get an attitude and don't tip. I really love it when a six top tries this trick....come on people, I wasn't born yesterday!

  14. I think it's becoming more of a regular practice as most people are realizing that we need to drink more water.  It not only saves money and is good for us, it saves on calories, too.  So, I think servers are used to it.
