  1. For Life! They will always have that behind them where ever they go and it is a lifetime record.

  2. It varies from state to state.

I live in Missouri. You can come off the registry depending on the crime, after a certain number of years (10).

  3. Neither.

It will depend upon state law and the type of "s*x offense" the offender committed.

Thus a "sexually violent offender" as they are known here will have to register for life. Whereas the 19 year old who was charged with stat rape for scoring with his underage girlfriend can apply to have his registration requirements lifted after a certain number of years.

  4. for life

  5. Registration is for life, but there are some crimes (or dates when the crimes occurred) that may make them not have to register or it's not available on a public list.

  6. If they are classified as a Sexual Preditor, then yes they have to register for life. Habitul s*x Offender i every 90 dys, and Registered s*x Offender is once a year. Laws have changed somewhat since I've had to deal with it, but I believe this is pretty close

  7. For life...they have to register with any police or sheriff of the city the live in. I think they have 5 days to comply..but I am not sure.

  8. Most of the answerers are either flat out wrong or just telling you the law from their state. You did not tell us what state you are in but I can tell you what the law is here in Florida.

Adult s*x Offenders (as opposed to juvenile offenders) have to serve out their sentence, including probation or parole. Then from the day they are off supevision, they have to wait 20 years before they can even ASK a judge to allow them to stop registering. Then the judge will review their request, their history, psychological reviews, etc and decide whether or not to grant their request.

So the answer to your question is no, not life and not just for probation.

  9. For life, once a year and every time they change their new address.

  10. In California, it's for life. Some states have limits and will allow an offender to be released form registration after a number of years.

  11. Well I'm no lawyer or judge but I'd almost bet that its a life sentence no matter where they live or move to they will always have to register as a s*x offender.. imagine how there victims feel now??? The victims are marked for life, they have to live with that day to day.. SO I'd say that if someone does this, he deserves to not be known to other possible victims in the future. cause I don't think that just cause someone goes to prision does he time, is re abilated.. sorry my thoughts only!
