Do shops open sunday and public holiday in Rome ?

Hi, i am planning to visit rome on 1 June to 3 June 07. i am wondering whether the shopping area such as Via Del Corso will remain open on sunday? and because saturday (2 June)is the Repulic day, so which day should i visit the shopping area .

  1. basically EVERYTHING is open.

    I was in Italy on their Labor Day and had no problems.

    The only things closed were some museums.

    But all churches are open so I went to the Vatican to see St Peter's Basilica.


  2. Yes, they will be open on Sunday.  Monday is the day that a lot of shops are closed.

  3. Hi, Kwan, yes, in Via Del Corso you'll find the shops opened, even on Sundays. But, be careful, many shops are closed during 12/13H - 16/17H. Not the big ones, but, since you want to go shopping, you must know it.
