I was just wondering about this, sort of randomly. I've never actually seen a cat with a short haired body but a nice bushy tail. Foxes have that, so.. It might exist. Has anyone ever seen one? Or know a species of cat which said characteristics?

  1. I've seen them, usually they're mixed breed. There is one breed of cat that looks like a short hair with a bushy tail...the Somali.

Technically, they are considered to be long haired Abyssinians.

  2. I've seen one. But only because it had a hair cut. I don't think they exist.

  3. my friend had a cat shaved to look like a poodle so its hair wouldnt get matted lol, but thats the only time ive seen one

  4. Actually the other day, a lady brought in this sweet cat she found and took in. She was short/medium haired and a bushy tail. I though it was so cute. she brought her in to get her fixed.

  5. One of our cats is a standard American short-hair (I think).  Her sister's fur is only a little bit longer, but it's extra fuzzy and kind of shaggy.  Her tail, on the other hand, is super fuzzy, and it's about as big around as my forearm.  She basically looks like a tiny, short haired Maine Coon.  My girlfriend and I think that there was a Maine Coon somewhere way back in the family tree, with a few coon genes occasionally showing up here and there.
