Do sidekicks and blackberrys use the same internet? (t-mobile)

My boyfriend has a t mobile blackberry pearl.

His friend gave him a sidekick ID.

But the internet wont work on it.

Why is this?

The blackberry uses Wi-Fi.

The data plans for a Sidekick and BlackBerry are different. A BlackBerry data plan won't work on a Sidekick. He would need to contact T-Mobile and ask them to add a Sidekick data plan to his account, and remove the Blackberry data plan.

Of course, if he ever puts his SIM card back in to the BlackBerry then the BlackBerry data won't work.
