  1. Depends. Look at these ferrets on this link. The poster fire7chic 2 ferrets turns almost all the way white

  2. Any ferret of any color can lighten with each coat change, but silvers/black roans do seem to do this the most. I have one now that had a lot of dark grey, but with every coat change he gets lighter and lighter. A lot of ferrets change colors and patterns from season to season, but some stay the same. I have five ferrets - a dark-eyed white, sable standard, black roan mitt (aka silver mitt), champagne point, and chocolate point - the silver/black roan mitt is the only that has changed colors so far.

  3. most of them do, its just a natural thing, but it usally depends on the ferrets, like i had a silver one that turned black... RIP mr.jiggles

  4. Ferrets can change coat colors at various times, including, like humans, going grey as they age. Every winter, two of my current ferrets get a beautiful, soft, mostly white coat. Then, in summer, they are back to their rougher, sable coats. Of course, this could be partly because their mommy had a silver-white coat, and their dad was a sable. But I have seen many ferrets slightly change color, and a couple that completely blew their coats and changed colors completely. It was quite odd.

  5. most of them do, its just a natural thing.

  6. This 'phenomena' isn't limited to just silver mitt ferrets.  All white ferrets tend to change or loose their pattern as they get older.  I have a blaze who now only has a splash of silver on his tail.  :)

You will also find that ferrets of other colors and patterns will fade or change as well.

These changes are not typically anything to worry about, although they could be a sign of a dietary issue if accompanied by a peculiarly course feeling coat.  In this case you may want to check with a vet.

  7. yes,yes they do. dont worry its totaly cool.
