Seriously every so often when I am not tired but I have to sleep I take Natrol Melatonin a sleeping pill and some times I do not dream or cant remember the dream but most of the time the dreams are nightmares and it makes all my dreams seem more realistic so is there something in the sleeping pill that does this?

  1. Hey.

I think sleeping pills could possibly give you nightmares, my great gran used to take some, not sure what they're called but they just used to knock her out really, its like she was in a coma and she would wake up on her own when the drug had worn off, but she could never remember her dreams.

My gran takes some too, but they give her dreadful nightmares, this is a way of making sure they wake you up I've heard. Its to make sure you don't just sleep and sleep and sleep...

It really depends on what dose and what type, sorry I don't know the names of any of them.

  2. Melatonin is an all natural sleep aid. I use to take it till it started giving me terrible headaches.

It shouldn't be giving you nightmares. What are you doing before bed? Don't watch scary things on TV.

I would suggest buying Ionic~ Fizz. It is  Magnesium Plus. It improves your sleep. This stuff does work. It is a powder that you mix with some water and drink it before bed. Here is a link to read up on it.

  3. I'm not a doctor but I'm sure It's possible.

    I have a sleeping disorder.

So like when I fall asleep I go completely under. Almost like a Coma. Or something. That's what my doctor told me. I have to take Trazodone and that sometimes gives you really vivid nightmares. That's one of the side-affects.

So yea I suppose there's a good possibility.

  4. yes, sleeping pills can cause nightmares, hallucinations, and sometimes sleep walking (this has mostly been documented in use of Ambien).  if it really bothers you or you aren't gaining any benefit from them, tell your doctor.  there are quite a few sleeping medications on the market (Rozerem, Lunesta, Ambien, Restoril, just to name a few).  one is bound to work for you without causing intolerable side effects.

  5. I myself don't get nightmares but when i take melatonin i get a bunch of episodes where i feel like im falling before i fall asleep...it is not fun

but the nightmares----that is one of the side effects in that supplement and if your body reacts that way to it that is just how its going to be with you! everyone is different but that is def. one of the side effects.

hope this helps! good luck sleeping!
