Do slow drivers annoy the h**l out of you? Should they be fined?

I drive a lot due to my job being quite a distance from where I live and I have experienced some really really slow drivers. I drive on a lot of B roads, single carriageways where the speed limit is 60mph, which is a decent speed. But I so often come across drivers who do 40mph on these roads, it is absolutely painful and I find it quite selfish that they slow other drivers up just because they are not capable of driving at a decent speed.

Then you get the drivers who drive at 25mph in a 30 and you have to put the car in 3rd gear and uses more petrol and they are so painful.

Should slow drivers be fined or something? I mean it is dangerous because other cars are obviously going to over take and sometimes have to take risks over taking.

The most annoying are drivers who drive at 40mph in 60mph zones, but as soon as its a 30mph zone they are still doing 40mph. Clueless!

  1. Ya, they should be fined! A lot of times, they are older people, and they shouldn't be driving if they have health issues or if they haven't retaken their drivers test. And you're right, it is dangerous, and probably more often nowadays there are wrecks from people who drive too slow. THe funny thing is, is that I can't even drive a car yet, but I encounter slow people enough to know it is a problem.

  2. Actually, They can drive as slow as they want. HOWEVER!!! When I get behind them, they better get out of my way.

  3. yes give them the electric chair or something(lol) i just rev my engine loud and pass em in my 67 GTO yeah !!!!!

  4. There is no reason that anyone should drive faster than they are comfortable.  That's what causes accidents.  Slow drivers don't cause accidents themselves, it's fast drivers that get impatient and try to pass them that cause accidents.

  5. The speed limit on most of the streets here is 30mph, However on narrow industrial/residential roads 20-25 is acceptable, and major thoroughfares 45 is common, and in-between streets often move at 35. Often when someone is looking for parking or an address they move slower as well.

  6. believe it or not my dad did get a ticket for driving too slow an they wrote it up as obstructing traffic,it took the state trooper 5 miles so he could finally get ahead of the traffic to find my dad cruising at a speed of 35 on the two lane road that the speed limit was 55 on,that was when we found out that he had Parkinson's decease, but at the time we all told him to speed up or stop driving,he chose to stop driving, now he has passed on,but we still remember this, and talk about it often,i think they should do this everywhere though, slow drivers are involved in as many accidents as fast driver do,good luck.
