ive heard alot of people say eating 1000kcals a day is unhealthy but i checked my bmr and if i eat 900-1000kcals a day il stil be in a healthy range...for my height because im 5ft...it kindof makes sense though because if about 1500 is right for someone who is average height, someone whose shorter than average would need less!? so if i eat 900kcals does that mean my body wont go into starvation mode??

  1. Yeah, that is if you sat on your bum all day and did nothing but breathe and sleep. You have to add daily activity on top of that which might be another 500-800 calories. Average height female should be consuming approx 2,000 calories per day.

    I'm 5ft2 and eat about 1,800 calories a day.

  2. definately so, this applies to me to maintain my current weight I have to eat  under 1500kcal, I am 5ft4 and around 44kg. Putting food into my mouth makes me gain, so sad!

  3. basically, eat when your hungry and in moderation. most people in the world should eat between 1500-2000 calories a day. children need more because they are growing so fast that their body needs those calories to complete daily things. You'd be amazed how many calories you burn just by breathing. Don't obsess over calorie intake, unless you are obese. If oyu are obese a doctor can give you a plan that will help you.

  4. Yeah, Im 5ft 2 and I eat waaaay less than all my friends but dont't lose any weight.

As long as you eat carbs, Youl be fine.

    :)

  5. Yes they do depending upon their activities but generally the smaller you are the less you need to eat. Heres a calculator..
