  1. snakes not only like heat they need heat. they are cold blooded therefore they dont make their own heat they need an external heat to stay warm. they will go into a hibernation like sleep if it gets to cold and wont get up until it is not that cold any more.....the heat also helps them digest food and shed

  2. Nah, put it in the freezer. That's why reptiles are known to be "cold"-blooded.

  3. it can really depend on species, time of day, etc but at certain points they do

  4. yes they do.but when it gets to hot they will try to find shade.or if its to cold they will die.

  5. For the most part, snakes are less tolerant of heat than cold.  They can easily overheat and die if you are not careful.  They do like warmth, but not direct heat.

  6. Yes, because when they are in the heat they can be more active because they are cold blooded. If they are in the cold then they tend to sleep and not move. Also because they are not able to be active in the cold they do not have enough energy to digest their food so they would eventually starve. So it is vital for a snake to have heat  to live.

  7. thay would rather be in heat then cold.

  8. yes but you do not want it to get to hot in there cages so get you some thing that will tell the how hot it is in there
