  1. i'm not a huge expert on snakes, but with reptiles in general 3 weeks is a long time to be going through one shed.

do you leave a tub of water in your balls tank so it can soak?

what are the humidity readings for the tank/enclosure?

    do you mist him daily?

these are things you should have available and be doing for you python,

sounds to me like it is just going through it's next shed on time (younger balls usually shed once a month)

the next time you see his shed go longer then a few days, give him a soak in the tub and mist him daily, up the temps a bit but not to anything dangerous

  2. He shouldn't be shedding back to back like that, unless you fed him a huge meal in the middle of his previous shedding, but even then it's unlikely.

It should only take your snake about an hour to shed his skin... NOT weeks. His skin is probably too dry and therefore won't come off.

Try increasing the humidity in his cage and run him under some warm water a couple of times a day. That will help him shedding if that is indeed the problem.

  3. sometimes if a snake is sick and has some kind of skin disorder they will go into a rapid shed. i had a gray banded king snake and it has a skin infection that puss would ooze out. he twice in one month.
