I want to use a snowboard for sandboarding.. I was wondering, would wearing regular shoes (they're Vans..) still work with the bindings? I dont want to use snowboots, they're too heavy for the sand

Thanks!

  1. It depends on your bindings.  Your Van's are much smaller than a snowboard boot, so the bindings need to be able to get pretty tight in order to hold your foot in place.

Here is a picture of what happens when the binding's are not tight enough:

    But they still work!  :)

  2. for sand yeah just dont wear open toed shoes

  3. well you might have a hard time balancing and get sand rashes on yor ankles but i have never tried so i would were long  socks.  have fun!

  4. yeah it would work just not that good and the bigger the shoe the better

  5. Yes and No..Mostly No beacuse the shoe isn't big enough or is too big....ive tried lol

  6. yea.i use them like that because snowboarding shoes are soo heavy.

  7. hahaha don't listen to anyone of them that say yes haha

    absolutely not

go to you local ski shop or eastern boarder and if you wanna buy online the-house.com  is the best!

you can get a pair for 70$ but some can be really expensive

  8. Not very well, as they are made for bulky boots. If you are renting a board at a sandboarding place, they will surely have different bindings made for shoes. If not try some dense, foam padding between the straps and your shoes.

  9. Yup.  I do it all the time!  Sand boarding is so fun!

  10. no it dosnt work i snowboard ur regular feet dont fit you have to wear the snowboarding boot  to fit the bindings.

  11. Snowboard bindings will work with your boots as long as the binding size is small enough.  You can usually get the straps tight enough to give you some leverage on the board.

I actually tried this last year and used regular shoes.  The only problem I had was that there was too much wax on my snowboard so it just stuck to the sand.  So my only advice is to get as much wax off your board as possible before goin. Besides that have a blast!!

  12. no your feet would be frozen and wet
