Do snowboarding and skiing use the same gear? I'm talking about pants, goggles in particular and boots too.

pants and jackets dont usually matter when youre going for the way they protect you from snow and cold, but the style between the two are sometimes different.  goggles dont matter really. and of course the boots are different in my opinion snowboarding boots are 4358934753975 times more comfortable than ski boots they lace up whereas ski boots ussualy buckle

Goggles, helmet, some pants and parka are the same also gloves. The boot and bindings are very different. The boots have a different purpose for each sport.

boots no, and of course not board and bindings. Pants and goggles really dont matter. The goggles are all the same, but there are some different kinds of "board pants" but its basicly just about style, nothing is completely necessary except boots. (and you dont need poles for boarding)

they're different. snowboarding pants have more ease for turns and freestyle, ski pants are more for warmth and do not need to bend as much. the helmets are also different. the ski helmets are specific and shaped differently to protect certain parts of the head as opposed to snowboarding helmets which are usually thinner, and meant for overall support, although both may be used for either sport. goggles are pretty much the same although makes such as annon and dragon optical are typically more commonly used by snowboarders. Goggles may be specified to fit certain helmets so you may want to try them on together before you buy them. boots are not at all the same and definitely cannot be cross-used in both sports.

Boots are different. The goggles are the same. Some people use the clothes interchangeably. Obviously you don't use poles for snowboarding which are vital to skiing.
