Do soap nuts really work?

I've heard they're not really good for whites or stains, but do they get general laundry clean?

Soap nut shells are cheap and leave your laundry fresh, clean and soft so you don't need a fabric softener.

Because they are natural  they are gentle on your skin and clothes. Great for sensitive skin, anyone with allergies, eczema sufferers and you can do baby clothes safely with them.

I dont know if they work but i no eco balls are rubbish as i have tryed them
