Do solar powered attic fans take the heat out in the winter too?

Like the other guy said, you can switch it off but in the winter it won't be doing much anyway.

You do need to ensure that the attic is sealed from the living space otherwise it will vent your air conditioned air out too! It could also be dangerous if you have some sort of burner providing heating in the house as it could draw the burnt gases the wrong way.
