  1. what kind of car do you have? depending on how old it is it could have a motor swap. turbos are pretty easy to spot. look at your intake and if you find something that looks like this

its turbo. if ur dad looked under the hood and he knows alot about cars then hes right so some where along the line the turbo and or motor was swapped out or u have the wrong owners manual or someone took a car and made it look like the car that was turbo but it really isnt. like taking a civic ex and making it look like an si or type-r.

  2. Which year and model is your car? Also need to know trim level. Changes are someone here will know if it has one or not.

Also keep in mind that owners manuals may cover several models, with and without turbo, so a mention in there doesn't necessarily mean anything.

  3. If the manual for you car says so, it "may". Look at the dash of your vehicle--- it should have an indicator labled "Boost" or "Turbo". The best way to check, IMHO (in my humble opinion), is to write the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) down, and either call/visit the dealer who sells that brand of car, or call the manufacturer of the car. However, if the Turbo is an aftermarket item, the VIN will not show that addition. Other than this, an ASE machanic should be able to simply look under the hood and say yes or no to the Turbo.
