Do some people naturally have different hued scleras?

I have a patient who told me he thinks his eyes are not as white as they used to be. He claims it has been that way for "a while now," and he is a generally healthy 33 year old male soldier. There should be no reason that he has any medically (hepatic) induced jaundice, as I'm sure it would be a dramatic yellowing, and personally, I can't really even tell. But to him, they are not as white as he thinks they should be. Any enlightenment? I'd love to have a great answer for him

  1. After a while the sclera can dull, but if he doesn't have a hx of jaundice then its gotta be from just sun etc etc. Has he tried eye vits? Tell him no Visine tho'.  Thats a blood vessel constrictor.
