Question:

Do some people need less sleep?

I was wondering last night i slept for 6 hours and was fine but i can also get 10 and be fine does that mean i dont need as much sleep

  1. I'm a sleep expert. (Not really)

    First variable: Age.

    - If you're in your prime, you won't THINK you need as much sleep.

    - If you're young, you'll run out of gas eventually.

    - If you're older, the more sleep the merrier.

    - If you're ancient, the tomb only opens once and it's to put you in!

    Second variable: Activity.

    - The more you move, the better sleep you'll get and the sooner you'll fall asleep.

    I can sleep stay up for a few days and be fine, but if take a 30 minute nap, I'm done.. I turn into this fire breathing monster that looks like I'm recovering from a bad accident.

    Also, 8 hours of sleep is not required, but it's nice. I'd say 6 hours is just enough to go through a normal day. Anymore and you're robbing your body of all that good stuff that goes on at night!

    The more I sleep, the softer my skin is! No joke, I sleep for 9 hours and I'm a teddy bear. I sleep for 3 hours and I'm debris in a glass factory.

    My job is physically demanding.

  3. everyone needs at least 6-8 hours of sleep every night.. if you don't get it one night your body will just try to make it up the next night.

  4. Contrary to TV stereotypes we sleep less as we get older.  5 hours is what I need but I can get by on 4 for a week or so. When I was a teen I had to have 8-9 or I was a zombie.

  5. you really always need the all the sleep you can get to stay healthy and focused the right amount of sleep you should get AT LEAST is 10 hours if not more my bro only has AT LEAST 5 hours of sleep and looks terrible in the morning not good at all.

    but try it again 2 or 3 times and you'll find that you need more sleep

    also, the older you get- the less sleep you need

You always need to get at least 7 hrs of sleep.   8 is best.    I've also heard that 9 hrs is good to. past that is to much.  You are probably young and after 6 hours you felt good  but i guarantee you It all catches up if done quite often especially as you get older. Just telling you from my own experience. Also when I get over nine hrs of sleep I drag a^* all day long

  9. Some people function fine on 4 hours sleep, others need 8 hours or more. I need about 8 hrs, which is about average.

    If you slept for 6 hrs every night for a few weeks, you might start to get tired.
