Question:

Do some sports fans take gambling a little too serious?

I used to. I was making money at an alarming rate. Until I went on a slide and had to visit a loan shark just to pay off a debt. I believe some sports fan take it a little too serious. I mean when u hear someone put up there house on a Michigan/Ohio State game, thats ludicrous. I understand being a fan, but lets face it. Referees are fixing games, coaches and managers have made decisions at the end of games that leaves the average fan scratching his head. Who is to say that many of these games are not fixed? I think the average hardworking man needs to think about these things before placing large wagers on sporting events. Your thoughts?

  1. You never want to borrow money to gamble or even play with money you can't afford to lose.  As for fixes, there's very little of that going on and not any amount that needs worrying about.  Coaches' decisions are another thing - if you play straight up rather than spreads this will solve this problem for you.  The other thing is that you should never let your passion for a team decide your betting for you.

  2. My advice is don't bet outrageously.  You MUST have a proven winning system.  The system I use wins 97% of the time and I win at a higher percentage than that because I don't bet every game.  You're d**n near guaranteed to win every single game that you bet on.

Nothing is better than seeing thousands of dollars sitting in your online betting account.  Well, I take that back.  The only thing better than seeing it, is holding it, spending it, and knowing that you will never be broke again.

  3. The actions you are describing are those of a gambling addict, not your typical sports bettor. It's true that many people do a poor job of managing their gambling bankroll, but most have the good sense to quit playing when they run out of expendable cash rather than to take out loans.

If you or someone you know is making these kinds of ridiculous bets, then they need to get in contact with Gamblers Anonymous to get help with their problem.

  4. It's important for a sports bettor to stay consistent when betting and never over-extend themselves.  If you keep chasing yout losses, you will only end up in a deeper hole.  Also, one should never let emotions play a role in the games you bet.

  5. WRESTLING is "fixed", not field sports. Referees might interfere but they're not "fixing" them. The coaches have to look out for the team and what they can handle and I don't think that it is a bad thing. If it looks like the team can't win, then the team might not have the opportunity to score a few extra points! Simple as that!

Wagering on any team winning is a stupid thing to do. You can not only lose your money that you worked so hard for, but you can also lose your friends.
