I am asking bexause of the various forests and jungles around the world and their effects on oxygen levels in the world. I would also appreciate someone explaining how you can possibly measure air for oxygen or any content, considering it would be such a miniscule sample as well as being consistently inconsistent, considering the constant motion that the world's air is in.

  1. oxygen is released due to photosynthesis.  However, plants will also use oxygen when they burn sugar for energy.  So, it's not as important how much oxygen a plant releases but rather what the net increase of oxygen is.

The net increase of oxygen for a plant is directly related to it's mass.  Plants that are growing faster are releasing more oxygen than plants that are growing slower (cellulose is just polymerized sugar that is formed through photosynthesis).

Rather than measuring the amount of oxygen released it'd be much easier to check the mass of the plant since that's directly proportional to the oxygen released.
