Question:

Do some white people overuse the term "african-american"?

Wait, before you think this is a racist question, listen. I'm just talking about when some people call foreign black people african-americans. Do people understand that you can't call someone african-amercian if they're not from America? People try to not sound racist, and they just sound like an idiot.

  1. Who knows what the frig to call black people these days. They're offended by everything.    I call them black. If that's a problem, so be it.

  2. I usually call them by their name, if I know it. Otherwise I call them Sir or Ma'am, whether Americans or not.

  3. Judging by your question why  do some black people like to refer to some white people as being white people when some of us are  Italian and French?Should you refer to some of us as being Italian-American or French-American instead of white people?

  4. I agree with See Dee...I'm not even prejudice but I don't don't even talk to black people at all any more, your all too angry.

  5. I don't know what to call them any more, I'm always thinking it's going to offend them, so i just try not to say anything about them

  6. but you just answered your own question

its because white people are made out to be racists so much that the ones who are not racist try so hard to not sound racit they either come across racist or stupid lol

  7. I don't.

And yes, English black people obviously aren't Afro-Americans.

  8. I have to agree with you here...that is so funny. But then again...I get way irritated at people on crime shows that refer to a criminal or rapist as a gentleman. Umm...that didn't make you sound smart.
