  1. Not really. Soybeans are legumes (beans). Soynuts and peanuts are called nuts, but are really legumes.


  2. Soybeans are nutritious seeds. The casing is soft, so it's not a nut.  It's really high in protein. Tofu and edamame can substitute meat. Very high in nutritional values. Might even lower cholesterol levels.
