Question:

Do space bags work abroad?

I'm moving to New Zealand in the fall for a year, and in addition to clothing I'd like to bring my own bedding, pillows, towels, etc. Space Bags seem to be great for compacting these sort of things down to a smaller space, but they require a vacuum to seal them back up.

Does anyone know if vacuum hose sizes are the same in the US as they are abroad? Will the vacuum hose in NZ fit the nozzle on my US space bag?

  1. The space bag is completley compatable btween NZ and USA...any vaccum will do the job, but keep in mind that hile in flight, the pressure will make some of your space bags compression go away...just some though...however big the bag is onc it is compacted all the way with all the airsucked out..expect it to grow about 10-15% in flight...i have done this many times as i have travelled between here and there a dozen times...2 of those times moving..

Again though, te vaccum shouldnt matter, as long as the hose opening is at least as big as the bag opening..(they always are)

  2. they make some bags that you can roll.

just look on the box for vacuum/roll bag.

i think they will be the same..vacuums are vacuums.
