  1. If they're not shielded, they normally skew the picture. The color disappearing but the picture remaining in tact is odd. Did someone turn the color down to play a game on you?

  2. CRT Televisions bend an electon beam in order to "paint" the picture you see.  This beam is painted so rapidly as to not to be detected by the human eye.  The electon  beam is bent by controlling the magentic field on the picture tube yoke, coils of wire around the picture tube for this purpose.  Your speaker magnets are interfering with this beam bending process.  Both Color TV's and Computer monitors use this electron beam fired at a mask.  Where the beam lands in this mask determines the flourescence or the color displayed, red, blue or green.  The liklihood of a beam being deflected throughout the entire display to produce only a B & W display is highly unlikely. Especially if there is no other distortion. You have other issues with the electronics or the color intensity has been totally muted. - Regardless use only shielded speakers around this type of display

  3. I am not sure but I have heard that it can happen due to the magnets.

  4. The problem is the magnets in the speakers.  They will destroy your tv! Remove them asap

  5. What happens with the tv is the speakers contain somewhat powerful magnets. These magnets can interfer with the electronics and picture tubes of tv's and causes a variety of problems.
