  1. Yes...Special Ed classes count the same....however in obtaining a diploma you can get the standard or modified.....but the you get the credit.....Also you can attend a college and your accomodations on your IEP still have to be met until you reach 22....( or that is  in the state of VIRGINIA)

  2. It would depend on what state you are living in. Special Ed classes usually do not count toward a regular diploma in most states, the person recieves a certificate of completion rather than a high school diploma. In Missori, that is the way it is done here. I would check with your guidance counselor on what needs to be taken instead of special ed classes if you are eligble, to finish you high school deploma if that is what your are interested in doing. Sounds like you got signed up for the wrong class if this is the first time it has happened. Like I said check with your guidance counselor on this matter.

  3. Some states count it toward a regular diploma or a modified satndard diploma--in thise cases you can go to college/get a job

In someplaces you get a special ed diploma which isn't worth much-colleges/vocational schools do not recognize them

  4. special ed kids, by law, have an equal opportunity admissions process

at my high school (in virginia, usa) many special ed classes are not worth any credit. however, special ed strategic reading (for example, there are others) is worth one credit, as are mainstream English, Bio etc.
