Do spices and hot peppers help digestion?

I'm trying to figure out if anyone has any information on whether hot peppers, hot sauce and whatnot has any effect on metabolism, digestion time, and weight loss. Please provide any links/references to your answers. thank you.

  1. Hot sauce isn't good for you liver at all. My brother used a lot of spice in his food, and his liver came back really bad, he levels were way over the limit. I'm not sure exactly of the name of the test, but it didn't go good for the liver. You can still use this things, just in moderation. Also, Spices and hot sauce can cause pain, and acid in your stomach, and result in damage. So don't eat to much of it.  


  2. Spices enhance the flavour of food.  

    Hot peppers are just that - hot - They give one an appetite and add taste to the meal.   I have never head of them helping or harming digestion.
