  1. Generally, spiders have poor eyesight, particularly ones that use webs to catch their prey (such as orb-weaving spiders). Many of these are for all intents and purposes blind, being able only to distinguish light from dark.

Spiders who do not use webs to snare prey, such as the family of spiders known as jumping spiders, have fairly keen eyesight, as you might imagine. This allows them to jump from one surface to another as well as stalk and capture prey.

  2. spiders are blind

  3. It depends on the spider.

Jumping spiders have EXCELLENT eyesight, that compares with some vertebrates.  You can see this about them because they have huge front eyes.  Because of this they can be quite colorful and their mating dances are quite complex.  Male jumping spiders wave their front feet and pedipalps around a lot to try to impress the female.

Ogre faced spiders, also called netcasting spiders, also have excellent vision because at night they weave a net out of web and snare prey with their front four legs.  If you ever see an ogre faced spider, they have huge front two eyes, and the other six are really small.

Wolf spiders have pretty good vision too, as they are also night hunters.

On the other hand, tarantulas are almost blind.  They have very poor vision and instead rely on their other senses like touch, smell, and hearing.  You would be surprised how fast and accurate they could be though!
