Do spiral staircases save space?

I have a back (kitchen) staircase, and I want to add a powder room to that space. My husband thinks that I am crazy, but I think we could do it if we changed the stair case (it goes up to a landing and then turns back to get t the 2nd floor so it is not just a straight up one. What do you think

yes, sure SPIRAL STAIRCASES saves a lot of space,your idea is also good, but the disadvantage with the spiral staircase is that it makes you difficult to go thru it.

Instead of changing back kithcen staircase into a spiral staircase , why dont you build a wall under the staircase, so that it will be appear as small room and you can use it as a powder room.

Of course it will save space. But, are you planning to have any furniture on the second floor? Try getting that up a spiral.
